Wind Symphony

The Wind Symphony is the premier band at Northern Valley Demarest.  Made up of 10-12th graders, this ensemble performs new material annually at four formal school concerts, the Music Department Festival Trip, Graduation, and other school events.  Members of the ensemble also perform at our Veterans Day and Memorial Day ceremonies.  Students who have spent one year in the Concert Band are then placed in the Wind Symphony the following year.

Students in this ensemble are also eligible to participate in Jazz Band (by audition), honor ensembles (by audition: County, Region, & All-State), chamber ensembles, and Musical Pit Orchestra. Members of this class ensemble are required to fulfill the marching band curriculum requirement during the first (fall) marking period either through direct participation or by alternate assignment (in the case of an NVD sports conflict).
